New PJ Harvey

There is a new PJ Harvey out and it's called White Chalk.
On the cover she looks like a ghost. What I've heard of it
sounds good to me. Give it a try!

none of her music has ever really clicked with me, but
people who like good stuff seem to like this so i should
probably check it out.

well, it's not nearly as pathetic as reznor, but still worth
a try.

What was played on 6music the other night sounded good, i
like the use of piano in place of guitar a lot.

i fell asleep to this album tonight and it sounded

maybe that's where it should be enjoyed.

I've heard a couple of tracks and it seems lovely.

To be honest I don't really understand every reviewer
getting a boner about her 'new direction', or 'ditching of
guitars'. She's done loads of stuff without her 'trademark'
dirty guitars and angry femininity. 'When Under Ether', at
least, sounds quintessentially PJ Harvey to me. The piano
and vocals sound somewhat different to her previous albums,
but in fairness so did those on To Bring You My Love, Is
This Desire, and Stories from the City. The only one of her
last few albums that didn't sound quite radically different
is perhaps Uh Huh Her.

God I love PJH, hopefully my order from play.com will come
tomorrow.

I heard it was about 12", black and has a small cut out
circle in the center, but thats just a guess mimi :)

What's special is inside the cut out circle. Poopcheeks.

I'm not sure about this album. I've never listened to much
PJ Harvey so I don't know how it compares. (a good thing)
I still think the first song is great. (tamborines) Some
of it bores me so it's probably a creeper.

Here's a 26 minute White Chalk documentary/interview, fil...

PS: Check out her song "big fish" i think it is, or "little
fish", it was her MTV hit in the mid--90's, other than that,
not really a fan.

Yeah, that's one of the songs I already know. Come back
here and give me your daughter. This reminds me of the
Portishead video when they're underwater and that one with
Thom Yorke in a shopping cart. Remember 120 minutes w/Mike
Pinfield? Those were the days.

Btw. I'm not watching that clip. I fear it will ruin
things.

nation :)

Kate Bush has tuned out to be a hottie.
Much better looking than her 90's MTV days.
